Once upon a time there were local communities where parents, siblings and life-long friends lived on the same block. Mothers would talk over the fence about how to get their children to eat vegetables, or how to maintain a romantic - or at least civil - relationship with their husbands.
Times have changed. Your family and childhood friends may live miles away. Or maybe they live in the same town, but work 60 hours a week, serve on multiple committees and try to squeeze in time at the gym. Tied to napping schedules and other never-ending needs of small children, motherhood can be a lonely endeavor. But, as mothers, we are automatically part of a larger community.
You can find your own niche in the community of mothers online. There are wonderful websites and blogs dedicated to the beauty and mayhem of motherhood. Our Top 10 Sources on Motherhood provide insightful experiences of mothers everywhere.
